]]> Since 2018, HCA has begun to organize Chinese adults and kids to participate in volunteer activities regularly. HCA has registered as a community volunteer organization with Houston food bank and created a dedicated HCA volunteer group. Each time, HCA group has had more than 30 volunteers, including adults and kids.

HCA volunteers accomplish different assigned tasks each time, such as packing sweet potatoes, packing food in plastic bags for young kids, checking expiration date and cleaning cans, and packing food in paper boxes for seniors.

From 2014 to 2018, HCA has worked with Chinese American Relief Effort (C.A.R.E.) in volunteering and fundraising for school supplies for underprivileged elementary school students.

  • Year 2018: students enrolled in Shadydale Elementary School and Fonwood Elementary School
  • Year 2017: students enrolled in William Sutton Elementary School
  • Year 2016: students enrolled in Park Place Elementary School
  • Year 2015: students enrolled in James Berry Elementary School
